Blueberry Oat Cookies

I love making oatmeal raisin cookies with craisins.  They remind me of Michael's best friend Aaron.  I would always make these for him because they were his favorite.

Since I've been on my Blueberry Bonanza kick I thought I'd try out a blueberry oatmeal cookie.

I made them just in time for the arrival of my youngest brother-in-law Alex.  All three brothers (out of ten siblings) were able to hang out and watch movies and play around.  I made a whole batch and by the end of the evening only five little cookies were left.  Apparently they were a hit.

You start out just like normal oatmeal cookies mixing the sugar and butter together.

After you mix all your dry ingredients together you add them into the sugar-butter mixture.

Then slowly you add in a couple cups of oats and then fresh or frozen blueberries.  I had fresh blueberries.

Once you spoon these out onto a slightly greased cookie sheet you pop them into the oven for about 15 minutes.

They don't expand like regular cookies.  I'm not sure if I over mixed or what but they didn't spread out hardly at all.  But the taste is amazing because you bite into it and you get the sweetness from the brown sugar and you get an explosion of sweet juice from the blueberries.
The next time I'm going to make these with the original Quaker Oats cookie recipe but then add in the fresh blueberries.  They really are a treat.

This sounds good. We have 5 pounds left of oats that need to be eaten. I will try this one maybe this weekend. Thanks!!!
